Domaine du Merlet is located near the beautiful medieval village of Penne d’Agenais, with its charming restaurants, in the diverse region of Lot-et-Garonne. This area is much quieter than the touristic Dordogne and much cooler than the deep south. The hilly surroundings have plenty to offer: picturesque settlement villages, countless wineries, delightful evening culinary markets, beautiful cycling and walking routes, castles, gardens, swimming lakes, water theme parks and, of course, the rivers Lot and Garonne.

Een kijkje binnen bij Mémé Cocotte @memecocotte, waar de inrichting, het servies en de gerechten grootmoeders tijd doen herleven. Het tochtje vanaf het domein eindigde met een heerlijke lunch.
Soms krijg je nog net op tijd de kans om op een speciaal plekje te eten: Mémé Cocotte (‘Oma braadpan’ maar dat klinkt niet lekker). Twee schoonzussen runnen nog een paar weken dit restaurantje, geheel in oma’s stijl (incl. borden en pannen). ‘De soep is goed vandaag!’ En dat was de pompoen inderdaad. Als toetje kregen we te horen dat de dames toch nog een vervolg voor hun eethuis hebben weten te regelen.
